~~flashback to one of my jobs last summer~~ For about a week, I helped out installing new security cameras in the office of SKANSKA, floor thirty-something of the Empire State Building. All the electronic/data cable ran through the space below the floor like this. To my understanding, removable tiles are far easier to work with than drywall. The Skanska office’s intestinal network wasn’t cluttered like what you see above, but I think that’s the point of this image; electricians are appalled when it looks this bad because it defeats the purpose. They’d usually blame an amateurish presentation like this on non-union workers. Incidentally, I start again tomorrow. Full time, 7am to 2pm. Goodbye vacation, hello tuition.
